Goldie


A portrait of Goldie, a friend's blue-gold macaw, sitting on the branch of a tropical sea grape tree. The borders echo the bird's feathers.

I created this art quilt from a single piece of dye-painted silk. I painted the silk with liquid dyes and acrylic paint, and then machine quilted the entire piece. I also hand embellished it with yarn, threads and beads.
